Leaf width intermediate between G. ramosa (1-2mm) & G. neglecta (2-12mm), per Wildflowers of the Eastern United States (Duncan & Duncan, 1999).

Flowers long-stalked in leaf axils, 2-lipped with lower lip 3-lobed, per Newcomb's Wildflower Guide (Newcomb, 1977).
