Dig deeper at SERNEC, a consortium of southeastern herbaria.
The taxonomy is unsettled. In 2021 Nesom monographed the genus Euthamia, treating the mid-Atlantic "hirtipes" as E. floribunda and the more southern hirtipes as E. weakleyi. However, Sorrie examined NC specimens of floribunda and concluded that they fall within the natural variability of E. caroliniana. Read more at Vascular Plants of North Carolina.
