Flowers creamy yellow, ~ 1" long, 2-lipped corolla, upper lip helmetlike, per Wildflowers of Tennessee, the Ohio Valley, and the Southern Appalachians (Horn, Cathcart, Hemmerly, & Duhl, 2005).
